YEAR-ROUND PROGRAMMING

SCREENSHOT: Asia has year-round programming for students, faculty, and the larger Western PA community. With our variety of offerings, we hope to collaborate with our communities to bring Asian and Asian American film, media, speakers, and artists to in-person and virtual campus.

In the past few years, we’ve hosted a discussion on contemporary Chinese media with Gao Lingmu, a screening and discussion of Taiwanese indigeneity with Taiwanese filmmaker Wei Te-shen, and a talk with documentary filmmaker.

Moreover, we’ve expanded to virtual programming with local and national collaborators, including Classrooms without Borders, the Maridon Museum, the Bhutanese Community Association of Pittsburgh, Japan American Society of Pennsylvania and many other groups.

We’ve also partnered with Pitt groups, including the Taiwanese Student Association, the Black Action Society and the Asian Student Association.
